Z kilkutygodniowym opóźnieniem (ale trzeba przyznać, iż warto było czekać!) opublikowana została trzecia wersja klienta poczty Mozilla Thunderbird, która według niektórych komentatorów będzie poważną konkurencją dla popularnych dzisiaj webmaili.

Google Chrome dla Linuksa już do pobrania!
Ukazała się pierwsza oficjalna wersja przeglądarki Google Chrome dla platformy Linux i Mac. Co prawda wydanie to jest jeszcze w fazie beta, jednak posiada wszystkie funkcje obecne w wersji pod Windows, a dodatkowo można zauważyć wyniki prac nad integracją ze środowiskiem linuksowym, np. dzięki możliwości korzystania z natywnych tematów GTK, oraz domyślnej dekoracji okien. Dodatkowo możemy zwiększyć funkcjonalność przeglądarki poprzez dostępne rozszerzenia , a dodatkowo do wyboru mamy sporą liczbę gotowych motywów . Po pierwszych testach trzeba przyznać, że Chrome pod Linuksa działa dość szybko, stabilnie i z pewnością zdobędzie sporą grupę stałych użytkowników - liczba użytkowników Chrome pod Windows przekroczyła już liczbę 40 milionów. Wydano openSUSE 11.2 !
Dzisiaj zniecierpliwieni po 8 miesięcznym czekaniu użytkownicy openSUSE ujrzeli na bannerach informujących postęp wydania napis "Już dostępny!". Oznacza to, że długo oczekiwana dystrybucja openSUSE 11.2 została oficjalnie wydana! Nie ukrywając błędów poprzedniej wersji, mamy nadzieję, że dzisiejsza publikacja rozwieje wątpliwości wszelkich krytyków tej dystrybucji. Najważniejszą zmianą jest oczywiście nowy, poprawiony z błędów kernel o numerku 2.6.31. Nowe jądro przynosi wiele pozytywnych zmian w systemie, tj. poprawki błędów, usprawnienia obsługi podzespołów itd.

Program ten, o nazwie SUSE Appliance Program , ułatwia dostosowywanie systemów operacyjnych do indywidualnych potrzeb oraz tworzenie i testowanie stosów oprogramowania.
